Pickleball, Pitchers, and Bragging Rights at The Grove

Let’s be completely honest with each other: the standard "let's grab a drink" routine is getting stale. You meet up at the same dimly lit spot, sit around a sticky table, scroll through your phones, talk about work for forty-five minutes, and repeat the exact same cycle next week.

It’s time to shake things up and add a little lighthearted friction back into the group chat.

With the late-summer Florida humidity finally backing off, North Florida evenings are prime time for friendly competition. We didn't build our space to be another place where you just stare at a wall. We designed it specifically for nights where you actually do something while you drink—and settle a few long-overdue bragging rights while you're at it.

The Ultimate Rec Night Playbook

If you are ready to trade boring barstools for actual entertainment, here is how to host the ultimate rec night this September:

  • Settle the Score on the Pickleball Court: Nothing tests a friendship quite like a disputed kitchen line call. Grab a paddle, split into teams, and take advantage of our outdoor setup for some fast-paced pickleball. It’s easy to pick up, impossible to stop playing, and highly conducive to trash-talking.

  • Challenge the Group to Disc Golf: Prefer a game you can play with a drink in hand? Take the crew out to test their aim on our outdoor disc golf course. It’s the perfect low-impact, high-entertainment way to catch up while navigating the course.

  • Take the Battle Indoors: If you want to see who actually has a swing and who has just been lying about their handicap for years, reserve a spot in our climate-controlled bay. Load up a world-class course on our HD Golf Simulators and battle it out point-for-point in comfort.

  • Loser Pays the Tab: The rules for the evening are simple: keep it low-stakes, talk as much trash (respectfully and with club rules in mind, of course) as humanly possible, and whoever finishes at the bottom of the leaderboard buys the first round of appetizers and pitchers at The Citrus Club.

No Dress Codes. No Rigid Leagues. Just Rec Night.

You don't need to join an intense league or buy hundreds of dollars in gear just to have a competitive night out. At The Grove, we skip the stuffy country club rules, rigid dress codes, and high-pressure tournament vibes.

Whether you're coming off a long shift, meeting up with high school buddies, or trying to organize a double-date that isn't completely boring, we’ve got the lights, the games, and the cold drinks ready for you.

Stop settling for the same old bar routine. Text the group, set the stakes, head over to the patio, and let the losing team carry the bill.
